The DFG is modernizing the guidelines for instrumentation usage costs promoting the sustainable usage

In the area of scientific instrumentation, sustainable and resource-conserving usage can consist of repairing defective or older instrumentation and upgrading it to the latest standard instead of replacing it with a new one. When submitting a proposal to the DFG, funding can therefore also be requested to upgrade existing instrumentation (instead of purchasing new instrumentation).

notification of thirt-party funding From 23.4.2024, only encrypted sending of the notification of third-party funding will be possible

Background is that emails with file attachments that contain macros or macro-like content can only be sent in encrypted form within the KIT. The Excel form of the notification of the third-party funding is affected by this regulation, as it contains macros for functional reasons. An unencrypted sending of the notification of third-party funding is therefore blocked by the KIT mail servers.
