Information about the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to an unprecedented und unanimous response by the international scientific community. The corresponding statement by the Alliance of Science Organisations in Germany has been endorsed by KIT. This affects scientific collaborations in many ways.

Regarding research-oriented funding, we would like to point out that

-      the Helmholtz Initiative for Refugees funds scholars who had to leave Ukraine due to the current situation and/or are in danger due to political persecution (KIT contact: Elena Pfeifer, INTL).

-      DFG has opened up the Walter Benjamin Programme to scientists at any stage of their career (after completing a doctorate) who have fled their home country (KIT contact: Research Funding Service).

-    Vector Foundation provides funding for Ukrainian refugee scientists (German only), (KIT contact: Elena Pfeifer, INTL).
